The finance society held a Networking workshop on Wednesday, March 3rd. The discussion was hosted by Kelly Kennedy and was an informative meeting on improving networking skills.

The finance society held a current events discussion on Wednesday, February 22nd. The discussion was led by Finance Society Vice President of Content Stephen Mwangi and Current Events Committee Member Michael Morabito. It was an informative market update for the members.

The finance society hosted FACTSET on Wednesday, February 15th. We heard from UConn senior James Klaassens about his internship experience at FACTSET. Ashley Peckham of FACTSET also talked about her firm’s opportunities for students. Thank you to everyone involved.

The finance society held a current events discussion on Wednesday, February 8th. The discussion was led by Finance Society Vice President of Content Stephen Mwangi and Current Events Committee Member Steven Gasparini.

The finance society held its first meeting of the semester on February 8th. Members competed in an exciting match of Finance Jeopardy. The winning team made a comeback in Final Jeopardy to claim the title. Thank you to all that participated.

The finance society had a busy night on Wednesday, November 2^nd. To begin the meeting the Dairy Farmers of America gave a presentation on the full time and internship opportunities available. Then the Current Events Committee updated members on the world of finance. To end the meeting the Finance Society hosted its first of the year Bull vs Bear Debate with members Reilly Cotter defending the bull side and John Roberts defending the bear. The finance society held a current events discussion on Wednesday, October 26^th. The discussion was led by Finance Society Vice President of Content Stephen Mwangi and Current Events Committee Member Steven Gasparini. Members were updated on the markets as well as given a briefing on credit and capital structures.

The Finance Society hosted Surgical Care Affiliates on Wednesday, October 19th. Our former Finance Society president, Alex Thalassinos gave a presentation about his experiences and his firms’ opportunities for students. Thank you to everyone involved.

 

The Finance Society hosted IBM on Wednesday, October 12^th. Mitch Zalko and Bob Jones of IBM gave a presentation on the world of corporate finance as well as IBM’s Watson. Thank you to everyone involved.

The Finance Society hosted Moody’s on Wednesday, September 28^th. Managing Director of Moody’s Tom Marshello gave a presentation on Moody’s and answered questions about his own professional career.
