November 15th, 2023 – Stock Pitch Competition: Final Round

Tonight’s meeting wrapped up our internal stock pitch competition for the fall semester with the final round. We gained comprehensive insights into the business models, financial well-being, and industry analyses of four prominent companies through the presentation of in-depth stock pitches delivered by members of the Finance Society and the Women’s Finance Association. Our distinguished panel of judges, featuring Pei-ju Lee of Bradley Foster and Sargent, alongside esteemed UConn Professors Liping Qiu and Frank Kroger, assessed the finalists of our event. We’re excited to hear the competition results and offer congratulations to the winners.

Tonight, we were joined by Connecticut Green Bank, which is the nation’s first green bank. Their mission is to confront climate change and energize the green economy. During their presentation, they talked about the main energy challenges that we face, and how their bank targets these problems. The presentation also covered clean energy investments, and their three product lines that they offer for investments. After the presentation, there was time for students to ask questions to gain a deeper understanding about their mission and goals.
